🍗 Weaver D’s old spot now serves hot chicken with gluten-free options
The Gist: Hot or Not Chicken Co. opened in April at 1016 E. Broad St., the former Weaver D’s building. It serves three-, four- and six-tender meals, hot or not, with fries and a choice of cornbread or slaw. Flagpole reports that nearly all menu items are gluten-free and the kitchen has a dedicated gluten-free fryer.
Why It Matters: Weaver D’s served that East Broad building for nearly 40 years. Its replacement gives diners a different lunch option in the same familiar spot, and the separate fryer makes fried food an option for people avoiding gluten.
What's Next: Hot or Not is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and closed Sunday.
