If you’re looking for something to do, you can browse by day, search by event, venue, or performer, and narrow things down by category, area, this weekend, or free events. Each event page has the time, address, price, and ticket or RSVP link.
Anyone can add their event to the calendar. There’s also optional promotion spots if you want more people to see it.
My hope is that this becomes the first place you check when you’re deciding what to do in Athens, and an easy way for local organizers to get the word out.

Financial advice in Georgia is sold the same way almost everywhere: the first meeting is free, the plan comes after you sign, and by the time you see what someone actually thinks of your situation, you're already a client.
Zach Ellington runs it backwards.

🏛 ACC Commissioners Reject Right-of-Way Ordinance
Athens-Clarke County commissioners voted against a proposed right-of-way ordinance that would have added language prohibiting camping, which includes sleeping or establishing a living space on public property, in certain public areas, including sidewalks.
Why It Matters: The ordinance's rejection means camping in those public areas remains allowed under current county rules, and discussions about homelessness and public safety in Athens are expected to continue.

🎤 Candidates for Georgia Governor Visit Athens
Candidates for Georgia governor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Rick Jackson visited Athens for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce's Congressional Luncheon at The Classic Center, where they shared their visions for Georgia and discussed issues including health care, taxes, economic development, and support for small businesses.
Why It Matters: The visit brought the governor's race to Athens, giving local business and community leaders a chance to hear directly from both candidates ahead of the election.
