Pretty Boy at 247 Prince Avenue in Athens, GA is a modern Vietnamese restaurant led by chef Kenny Nguyen, a first generation Vietnamese American who previously served as executive head chef at The Expat and competed on season 21 of Top Chef. The restaurant is an ode to Kenny's grandmother and takes its name from the English translation of the nickname she gave him. Noah Brendel, co owner of Seabear Oyster Bar, is a business partner in the venture. The menu focuses on deep cut cultural Vietnamese dishes, street food fare, and creative cocktails designed to evoke the experience of exploring Ben Thanh Market in Saigon. Seabear Oyster Bar operates as an associated concept. With a 4.6 star rating across more than 110 reviews, Pretty Boy has quickly become one of the most talked about restaurants in Athens. Dinner hours run Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 10 PM, Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 PM, and Sunday from 4 to 9 PM. Reservations are available through Resy, and takeout can be ordered through Upserve. The Prince Avenue location in the Bottleworks building sits in one of Athens' most dynamic commercial corridors. Kenny credits Jerry and Krista Slater for the creativity he developed at The Expat, and Pretty Boy represents his own vision fully realized.
