About Trappeze Pub
Trappeze Pub on N Hull Street in downtown Athens has been called one of the most highly rated gastropubs in the world, and once you sit down and see the beer list, you start to understand why. The selection includes hundreds of the finest and rarest beers available on the East Coast, with 33 taps pouring a rotating lineup and a bottle list that goes deep into Belgian, German, and American craft styles. But Trappeze is not just a beer bar pretending to serve food. The kitchen takes its work seriously. The menu focuses on locally sourced, seasonal fare prepared with a level of care that elevates pub food into something genuinely special. The fries have been voted best in Athens for years running, and they deserve that title. The rest of the menu follows the same philosophy: familiar dishes made with better ingredients and more attention than you would expect. The pub underwent an expansive renovation in 2020, including a massive new 80 foot bar custom built by Oneta with a completely redesigned draft system. The result is a space that feels polished but comfortable, with enough room to spread out and enough character to feel like a neighborhood spot rather than a corporate operation. Trappeze is open daily for lunch and dinner, with hours extending until 10 PM on weekdays and 11 PM on Friday and Saturday. The N Hull Street location puts it within easy walking distance of everything downtown. The crowd skews a bit older and more intentional than the average Athens bar, which makes it a good choice for people who want great food and beer without the college bar energy.
