🏟 UGA Athletics Budget Just Got Bigger
UGA athletics approved a record $239.1 million budget for FY2027, marking an 8.2% increase from the previous year and the largest in school history. The budget projects higher revenue from SEC distributions, ticket sales, and the Georgia-Florida game’s temporary move to Atlanta.
Why It Matters: It’s the largest athletics budget in UGA history.

🎾 A Fitness And Wellness Club Is Coming To Athens
Athens Athletic Club, a new fitness and wellness facility, is expected to open on Athens’ westside in 2027. Plans include indoor and outdoor fitness amenities, pickleball and tennis courts, recovery spaces, and coworking areas.
Why It Matters: The project would bring a large new private fitness club to Athens, adding amenities not currently offered together in a single facility.
