Beignets and café au lait on Prince Avenue
Hendershot's serves breakfast and grab-and-go food from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 237 Prince Avenue. The morning menu pairs house-made beignets with café au lait.
Later in the day, the menu adds meat and cheese plates, cocktails, draft beer, wine and a full mocktail list. Hours run until 10 p.m. Tuesday, 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and midnight Friday and Saturday.

🌭 College Square could stop street vendors from cooking food
The Gist: The Athens Downtown Development Authority has asked commissioners to limit food and drink sales in College Square to prepackaged items. Street vendors would no longer be allowed to cook or prepare food in their assigned spaces on the newly rebuilt pedestrian plaza.
Why It Matters: Dirty Dawgs owner Lin King has sold hot dogs at College and Clayton since 2003. He says the rule would favor restaurants over street vendors, while downtown officials say vendor grease has damaged the plaza's new brickwork.
What's Next: The mayor and commission are scheduled to vote on the restriction Tuesday, October 6.
