🚲 Athens Earns Low Bike Score, Plans Improvements

Athens received a low score in a recent national ranking of bike infrastructure, but several projects aimed at improving biking and walking are in the works. According to Flagpole, planned improvements include sections of Barber Street, North Avenue and Atlanta Highway, along with new sidewalks, crosswalks and multi-use paths.

Why It Matters: The projects could improve safety and make it easier for residents to bike and walk throughout Athens as the county works to expand its transportation network.
