Brett's Casual American is expanding with a new concept called Brett's Backyard. According to the restaurant, the upcoming location will feature outdoor space while bringing Brett's signature casual dining experience to a new setting. The project is currently under development and has been promoted as "coming soon."

After nearly a decade in Athens, Akademia Brewing Company announced it will permanently close following its final day of service on June 28. The West Athens brewery first opened in 2017 and has become known for its craft beer, food menu and community events.
Why It Matters: Athens residents have just a few days left to visit Akademia before its final day of service on June 28.

📣 Fisher reflects on historic election
Mayor-elect Dexter Fisher said he understands the significance of becoming the first Black mayor elected in Athens-Clarke County history and views the position as both an honor and a responsibility.
