🚌 This School Bus Has A Different Mission
Got a student who'll be new to Clarke County schools this fall? CCSD is launching its first-ever "Rolling Registration" event next week, bringing a repurposed school bus equipped with computer stations directly to four Athens Housing Authority communities. The mobile registration lab will stop at Nellie B., Parkview, Rocksprings, and Broadacres on June 16-17 to help families enroll students for the 2026-27 school year.
Why It Matters: By turning a school bus into a mobile registration lab, CCSD is meeting families where they are and making the process more accessible for new students ahead of the school year.

🗳 Athens Runoff Season Is Officially Underway
Athens voters left several of the area's biggest races unresolved, sending the mayor's race and two commission contests to a June 16 runoff. Tim Denson and Dexter Fisher will face off for mayor after neither candidate cleared 50%, while Districts 5 and 9 are also headed to another round of voting.
Why It Matters: The next mayor of Athens—and two commission seats—will now be decided in a June runoff.
