🧋 The Watkinsville Spot Where Your Boba Run Can Turn Into Dinner and Karaoke
Sometimes you go out for a drink and end up staying for dinner. At SushiOne & Bobalicious Cafe in Watkinsville, you can do both.
Their menu is packed with refreshing fruit teas, milk teas, slushies, and blended drinks, with flavors like Dragon Fruit & Lemonade Paradise, Mangonada, Tropical Blast, Butterfly Dream Tea, and Tango Mango.
And if one drink turns into a longer night out, there’s plenty to pair it with: sushi rolls, pho, bento boxes, poke bowls, bao buns—and even karaoke rooms when you're not ready to call it a night.
It's a family-run spot from Julie Nguyen and her family, open seven days a week.

🏠 When Mom or Dad Starts Needing a Little More Help at Home
If you’ve started noticing that a parent is having a harder time managing everyday routines, you don’t necessarily need to wait until they need full-time care.
Christopher’s Bridge Home Care helps Athens and Oconee families recognize changing care needs early and find personalized support that allows seniors to remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.
Instead of simply sending a caregiver, Christopher’s Bridge carefully matches caregivers with each client and maintains consistent communication with families throughout the process.
That can mean one-on-one help with the things that have become harder to manage, while your parent continues living in the place they know and love.

And if you’re thinking, “We’re not sure they need home care yet,” that’s exactly why starting with a conversation can help. You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Christopher’s Bridge is locally owned and operated in the Athens/Oconee community, with a focus on aging in place and building genuine relationships with the families they serve.

🚧 Jimmy Daniell Road's six-month closure starts Sept. 14
The Gist: Drivers who use Jimmy Daniell Road to reach SR 316 will need a new route beginning Sept. 14. GDOT will close the road for about six months while crews build a new bridge and interchange. SR 316 stays open, but Meriweather Drive at Jimmy Daniell Road also closes to through traffic.
Why It Matters: The posted detour uses Atlanta Highway, US 78 and Mars Hill Road. Homes, businesses and public facilities remain accessible.
What's Next: Use 511GA and posted signs because navigation apps may not show the detour immediately.
