🏛 Athens Clarke Names New Corrections Warden
Athens-Clarke County has named Charles Mason as its new corrections warden and department director. Mason, who has served as deputy warden since 2015 and stepped in as interim warden earlier this year, officially takes over the role after nearly three decades in corrections.
Why It Matters: Leadership changes at the county jail can influence everything from daily operations to how Athens approaches rehabilitation and repeat offenses.

⚾️ Georgia Baseball Makes History
Georgia baseball beat Arkansas 11–1 to win the program’s first SEC Tournament championship. The Bulldogs took control early and closed out the weekend with a dominant win as postseason play continues.
Why It Matters: Georgia heads to the NCAA Tournament after one of the biggest wins in program history.
