  • We pick the restaurant, handle the details, and provide conversation starters

You just show up.

NEXT DATE: Tuesday, November 3rd at 6:30 PM

When Curiosity Gets Pets into Trouble

When your pet needs care after your regular veterinarian is closed, PriorityPet Urgent Care is here to help. We’re a locally owned urgent care clinic with an emergency-room mindset, bridging the gap between your daytime veterinarian and a 24-hour emergency hospital.

From a stolen snack to a swallowed sock, what your pet eats can become an emergency. Acting quickly—often within the first 2–4 hours—may allow our team to safely induce vomiting and prevent hospitalization, surgery, or serious complications.

Getting your pet to PriorityPet Urgent Care soon after an ingestion may allow us to safely induce vomiting, potentially avoiding days of repeat bloodwork and additional treatment. Some toxins, including grapes and raisins, may still require monitoring even after vomiting but waiting until the next day can mean missing an important opportunity for early treatment. Don’t wait for symptoms; call or visit us as soon as you suspect an ingestion.

Connected Care, Close to Home

After each visit, we email medical records and diagnostic results to your pet’s regular veterinarian to support follow-up care. Through relationships with local veterinary practices and participation in community events, we’re proud to serve pets and their families throughout Watkinsville and greater Athens.

Need care for your pet? Walk in or call 706-310-8622.

Hours:
Monday-Friday, 4PM to Midnight
Saturday–Sunday, 2PM to 2AM

🚰 Athens aims to get late water bills back on schedule by January

The Gist: Athens-Clarke County Public Utilities said October 15 that software and billing-process changes have delayed some water and sewer bills. Some bills now cover more than the usual four weeks, leaving customers with higher amounts than expected. The new billing system and customer portal, once planned for December 2026, is now expected in late 2027.

Why It Matters: Interim director Hugh Ogle acknowledged that late bills make budgeting harder. The department says it is prioritizing problems with the greatest direct impact on customers and restoring checks in its billing process.

What's Next: The county aims to return to normal billing cycles by January 2027. Customers with questions can call 706-613-3500.
