🧺 New on Epps Bridge: Unlimited Laundry, Washed, Dried and Folded, for $17.85 a Month
Imagine never having to wash your game day jersey again, or cram a load of laundry in between classes. Spinjoy’s CEO came up with this: you’re already at Walmart every week, so what if you could drop your laundry off on the way in and pick it up perfectly washed, dried and folded?
Spinjoy opened at the Walmart Supercenter at 1911 Epps Bridge Pkwy last month. Athens is its third location.
The Athens Scoop deal is six months of unlimited wash-dry-fold for $17.85 a month with code SCOOP1785. The regular price is $79.99 a month, so you save $372 over six months. That’s under 60 cents a day. (1785 is the year UGA was founded.)
You get one Spinjoy bag, and whatever fits in it and zips counts. That’s about 30 pounds. One mom came back from a family camping trip and dropped off every sheet and every piece of her kids’ clothes at once.
In the Spinjoy app you choose Tide, Arm & Hammer, fragrance-free or hypoallergenic detergent, or bring your own pods. You track your bag from drop-off to pickup, and it comes back folded and ready for the drawer.
If laundry is what fills your Sunday, download the app, enter SCOOP1785, and bring your first bag on your next Walmart run.

📷 Athens police could need warrants to search Flock's plate data
The Gist: State Rep. Eric Gisler has proposed requiring a warrant every time police access the Flock license plate system. Athens-Clarke County police have 33 Flock cameras and keep their data for 30 days. The proposed rule would add a judge's approval before officers could search the system.
Why It Matters: After a former Athens-Clarke County police employee allegedly used Flock to track his ex-wife, the department limited access to lieutenants and above and required a captain's approval. Police Chief Jerry Saulters says requiring warrants could slow investigations. Gisler says the system needs stronger safeguards.
