🥬 UGA students can get fresh and frozen food at a bigger Tate pantry
The Gist: UGA opened a larger Student Food Pantry in Room 126 of Tate Student Center on October 8. The 1,100-square-foot space is eight times larger than its old home, with room for fresh and frozen food. It also now includes Bulldog Basics hygiene supplies.
Why It Matters: UGA says the pantry averages more than 100 visitors on a typical day and has logged 34,337 visits since January 2025. Students facing food insecurity can get groceries and hygiene supplies at no cost with a UGA ID, up to 15 items a week.
What's Next: UGA has scheduled an open house for October 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
